Well youth camp has now come and gone, and man, what an exciting experience that was! Needless to say I was SSSOOO exhausted when I got back home! I am still not unpacked, and have a HUGE pile of dirty clothes that are desperatly calling to be washed, so yeah, life is still super busy!
But that is not the point of this blog, the point is to praise God for what He has been doing not only in my life, but in the lives of others around me as well! There wasn't really a theme verse from the camp as a whole, there was a theme saying which was "Live to Serve, Serve to Live." Tanner Allen though kept coming back to a verse found in Galations 1:10 which says, "Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ."
This sorta summed it up in a nut shell for all the things that I have experience, heard, or talked about this past week. Lots of exciting things are happening, most of it partaining to missions, and the desire to go. We had 4-5 different kids come up and say they desired to do an foreign mission trip as a result of this past week, which was cool considering Mark and I had talked about it months before hand, and then when talking to some trusted friends the night before, they said they had contemplated the youth/church going on a foreign mission trip and had talked about it just the day before, and then the sermon this past Sunday morning is about missions too! Needless to say, we are working on the strong possibility of going somewhere outside the U.S. within the next year, if that is where God leads! It is so cool, to watch things unfold on His schedule and His timing!
Talking about missions brings me to my next point of business which is the phone call I had with my brother Adam last night. For those who don't know Adam is currently serving as a summer missionary in South Dakota right now. He is pretty much being a youth minister for the summer for a church called Calvary Baptist. I am so pumped about this, because you see my heart got left in SD 2 years ago on a mission trip, so for him to spend an entire summer pouring himself out is so exciting. God is doing some extraordinary things in his life, there is no doubt about it. He was saying how he just has this love for the people in his church there, the kids in the youth, and the people of SD as well. He told me "It's weird because I've only had this kinda love for a few certain people all my life, but here, I feel that way towards everyone I meet." He says, there is no other place he would rather be then right there were he is! That is so exciting! I am so glad he is so happy, feeling sooo good, and is loving being in the center of God's will. Continue to pray for him as he develops deeper and deeper relationships with those around him!

Right now I am sitting inside the Children's Hospital in Plano, Texas. My cousin Emilie has been in here for the past week or so because of various infections that have settled into a lymph node in her neck. . . Today is Sunday and they will be here until Tuesday when we will know if the anitbiotics are working or if surgery is needed! We are hoping the meds will do the trick and surgery wont need to happen, but her health is definitely first priority. I have a confession to make. . .I am a sinner! I know, I know, this comes as a huge shock to everyone. . .haha JUST KIDDING!! In all seriousness, I say this, that I am a sinner, one of the worst! I struggle day and night with things that I shouldn't, I do things I know are wrong, I say things I know I shouldn't, and I think thoughts that shouldn't be thought and if I am not careful it can begin to weigh me down. |
